Zarathustra: A Philosophical Performance is a groundbreaking trilogy conceived and directed by Zaid Shurbaji, transforming Friedrich Nietzsche’s iconic text Thus Spoke Zarathustra into a series of immersive, multilingual stage events. Each chapter—Descension, Realization, and Ascension—invites audiences to journey through themes of transformation, self-overcoming, and existential struggle. Combining theatrical readings in Arabic, German, and English with contemporary dance, experimental music, and live visual art, the trilogy blurs the boundaries between performance, philosophy, and ritual. Presented in Amman, the project created a space for collective reflection, drawing together diverse communities to experience Nietzsche’s timeless ideas in a new, visceral form.
